Cistoscopy
It is an urological procedure whose purpose is to display and whether biopsies and treatments inside the urinary bladder is needed.
By this technique, using an endoscope, a doctor sees the inside of the bladder and urethra.
It is usually performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthesia to minimize discomfort. Sometimes it can be chosen and sedation.
Directions
It is indicated for the study of hematuria, cystitis repeat sometimes prostate adenoma and for revisions after resection of bladder tumors. Sometimes you can place or remove a catheter into the ureter.
Preparation
Before the examination or at the time of it, may be given an antibiotic to prevent infection.
